John Wright is an artist and photographer whose interest in art and photography began in high school. Joining the US Navy in 1973, he acquired training and experience in advanced photography principles, photojournalism, and motion picture techniques. As a result of his outstanding portfolio, he was selected to attend Syracuse University’s prestigious Military Photojournalism Program, graduating in 1979. After the Navy, John transitioned into advertising and public relations photography for local, regional, and national accounts, including General Electric and Smithfield Hams.
After ten years away from the art field, John was drawn back to the desire to be visually creative. In April 2010, John opened his own photography business in Carlisle, providing custom photographic printing, art reproduction services, and photographic instruction. Over the last several years, John’s photography has been developing into the outstanding contemporary art form that you see today.
